Less Perfection, More Boldness: How Numen’s Talent Acquisition Team Applies AI in Daily Operations

By Joceline Abe Lopes – People Director at Numen

In 2025, Numen’s Talent Acquisition team faced a paradox common to fast‑growing companies: while the volume of demands skyrocketed, the market became increasingly limited. In the SAP universe — already niche by nature — finding qualified talent required not only more effort, but entirely new ways of thinking about recruitment.

Waiting for the “ideal moment” wasn’t an option. The context demanded speed, scale, and fast decision‑making. It was in this scenario that Talent Acquisition decided to do what is expected from a technology company: experiment.

The journey started internally, with a solution developed in‑house to automate résumé classification using AI, reducing the operational workload for both the team and Numen’s leadership. What once consumed hours was now resolved in minutes — freeing time for what truly matters: analysis, decision‑making, and relationship‑building.

From there, we expanded our view to the market. We tested, contracted, and experimented with external AI solutions applied to recruitment. Some bets served their purpose as learning experiences; others quickly revealed their limits. And that’s okay. Experimenting is also knowing when to close a chapter.

Solution A represented this exploration stage: a real pilot, with integration, data loading, and practical usage. The result wasn’t the scalability we expected, but it delivered clear lessons about the type of solution that would make sense for our model. Lessons that guided more assertive decisions moving forward.

That’s how we arrived at Solution B. A simple, practical solution integrated into the team’s workflow, which quickly moved from experimentation to real impact. In just a few months, more than 500 interviews were conducted with AI support, optimizing hundreds of operational hours and helping the team manage demand spikes without compromising quality or the candidate experience.

More than numbers, this journey strengthened something bigger: a culture of responsible boldness. Amid the “chaos” of a heated market, Numen’s Talent Acquisition team chose not to wait for the perfect scenario. They chose to test, learn quickly, adjust course, and scale what worked.

Within a technology company, the People team also draws from this same source. Less perfectionism, more courage. Less promise, more practice. Because many times, waiting for the ideal timing means missing the opportunity to build the future while it’s happening.
