Chilli Beans Migrates to SAP Cloud ERP

Company Bets on SAP S/4HANA Private to Modernize Operations and Boost Efficiency

Chilli Beans, the largest sunglasses retail chain in Latin America — also active in prescription glasses, watches, and accessories — has completed its migration to SAP Cloud ERP, a solution suite that brings together essential technologies for successful digital transformation, including SAP S/4HANA Cloud. The project was led by Numen, a trusted name in technology solutions.

With 28 years in the market and international presence in countries such as Portugal, the United States, Colombia, Kuwait, Peru, Mexico, Bolivia, and Thailand, among others, Chilli Beans now has over 1,000 points of sale in various formats (stores, kiosks, and e-commerce) across Brazil. The brand is known for its constant innovation, launching new eyewear models and collaborative collections with artists, brands, and public figures every week.

The retailer had been using SAP ECC for over a decade. However, with the announcement of the solution’s end-of-life in 2027, the company decided to proactively migrate, ensuring operational continuity and security.

“For all these years, the tool served us well. However, knowing that migration would eventually be necessary, we chose to get ahead, using this time to adapt and explore new features, ensuring smooth operations,” explains Cristina Guedes, IT Manager at Chilli Beans.

Strategic Migration and New Solutions

With well-established processes, Chilli Beans adopted the brownfield approach, which allows for system upgrades with minimal business disruption. Additionally, the company expanded its technological scope with two complementary tools:

  • SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC): Automates and manages tax and regulatory obligations.
  • SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI): A cloud-based middleware that facilitates integration between different systems and applications.

Execution and Partnership

All implementations were carried out by Numen, a partner chosen through recommendation.

“From the very first interaction, the team showed commitment, dedication, and professionalism. The execution was smooth, and in specific situations, we always had immediate support, which made all the difference,” says Elizeu Prudencio, SAP Business Analyst at Chilli Beans.

The satisfaction was also echoed by the solution provider: “Leading Chilli Beans’ migration — such a prominent brand in Brazilian retail — was a source of pride. The successful implementation marks a journey of learning and collaboration, bringing significant gains to the company,” says Manuela Magalhães, Relationship Lead at Numen.

Next Steps

Following the go-live, the company is now adapting to the new features and refining processes to ensure compliance and greater efficiency.

“SAP has always provided the necessary support for our business performance. Now, we’re entering a new phase that not only ensures consistent results but also offers even more resources to expand management with agility and efficiency,” concludes Cristina Guedes.
