According to the Diversity Census of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, released by Brasscom, only 35% of respondents identify as Black (15.5%) or Brown (19.5%). Going against this trend, Numen, a leader in technology solutions, has just launched an exclusive talent pool for this audience. Interested candidates can now register on the company’s website.
The project is another permanent initiative by the company, designed to establish a priority channel ensuring that Black and Brown professionals are considered in all recruitment processes. There are no prerequisites for registration other than the desire to grow with Numen. However, those who wish to detail their experience and market differentiators can also add this information to their profile.
In practice, the talent pool will serve as a strategic portfolio for recruitment and selection. Each profile will be mapped, and when new positions become available, if there is compatibility, the professional will be prioritized for participation in the selection process. If no compatible profiles are found, the registration will remain in the database, in compliance with LGPD regulations, and may be consulted for future opportunities.
Based on the belief that innovation cannot exist without diversity, every recruited candidate will have access to the company’s learning and training programs. Additionally, Numen’s mission is to involve all leadership in each project to raise awareness and provide greater support for the cause.
The announcement is celebrated by Andreia Tsuruhame, CEO of Numen. “We want to build an increasingly diverse team. We understand that, to achieve this, it is essential to foster actions that attract different audiences. By creating a talent pool for Black and Brown professionals, we are countering the low participation of these professionals in such a relevant sector as technology,” she says.
The initiative is part of “FeNUMENalls,” a project that encompasses five committees: Diversity and Inclusion, focused on LGBTQIAPN+ individuals, people with disabilities, Black professionals, women, and professionals aged 50+. These committees ensure that the demands of these groups are heard in a structured way, with improvement proposals ranging from internal policies to development and awareness programs.
The effort is led by Felipe dos Anjos, Head of Employer Branding and DEI at Numen. “Our company has always had diversity in its DNA, promoting actions in favor of this purpose. Now, we are expanding the reach of these initiatives, developing a series of actions aimed at attracting new talents from various groups. After all, a company committed to diversity not only broadens its perspective but transforms its culture by recognizing that plurality is a strategic strength.”
The committee responsible for the talent pool will be led by Patrícia Bernardes (Payroll Analyst). “As a Brown woman from a low-income background, I’ve always wanted to work for a company that values inclusion. With this initiative, we are opening a window of opportunity for these professionals, ensuring training and access to a highly specialized market like IT.”
Julia Lopes (Marketing Analyst) will serve as program ambassador. “As a Black woman, I’m happy to know that in a few months, we’ll have even more representation within our organization. Unfortunately, most of the time, people like me don’t have easy access to this environment. But now, through our talent pool, we are making this journey possible.”
With all objectives aligned, the company aims to reach 200 registered resumes. “With our talent pool for Black and Brown professionals, we are taking another step toward our central goal: becoming the preferred consultancy among competitors,” concludes Andreia.
